The Control of Nature

The project revolves around probing the relationship between humanity and nature.

She seeks to question the impact of our cultural legacy on controlling nature, as manifested through attempts to dominate and replicate its beauty, utilising digitally manipulated nature photographs to depict the disquiet stemming from the division between human influence and the natural world.

The landscape was captured on black-and-white film using an analogue camera during my road trip along the coast of South Africa. This image conveys the sublime beauty of nature, which I have enhanced with digital elements as part of my series The Control of Nature.
